CRAZIEST SKI LINE EVER (BEATRIZ LÓPEZ)


 LEVEL:

1st ESO.
OBJECTIVES:
The first objective is to use modal verbs, as well as adverbs of manner. The teacher will also practise saying the long vowel sound /a:/ in can´t with students. Although they should already know the parts of the body, it will be very useful as revision.

ACTIVITIES:
1. Story seeding In order to engage students to this activity, the teacher writes the following words: craziest, Alaska, narrow, extreme sport, do not try this at home.

2. Predicting They have to predict what the story is about by answering questions from the teacher. Modal verbs will be used in this questions and the students will have to include adverbs of manner in their answers. The teacher will ask questions to make students use parts of the body in order to review that vocabulary.

3. Watching the video They watch the video.
4. Post watching Once they have watched the video, the will be aked about questions prompting out modal verbs and parts of the body.

5. Writing For a final task, they have to write down about an extreme sport.

So, I have prepared the following activities based on that video for my English classroom. THERE WAS A PROBLEM… I will tell the children that the day before I watched a video that I really loved. I will show them a poster with different words to encourage children to start speaking. (I can't paste the poster, but it is Halloween theme with the title and four words related to the video: baby boy, halloween, tradition, mummy, problem) If will guide my students with questions, so that they can start talking and make predictions on the story . For example What Halloween tradition could it be?
