LEMON (CRISTINA ALONSO)

Through this lesson plan students will discover “Lemon”, an animation short-film that was created with the aim of raising awareness about the problem plastics pose in Nature. Level: I have designed this activity for students in 5th Year Primary. Objetives: To show the importance to protect the Oceans and the biodiversity. To support the Environment and sustainable development. Activities:

Firstly, I would ask them to think about the plastics nowadays (a brainstorm about it).
Next, they watch “Lemon”, this short film without interruptions.
Then, the students will explain the story and share their ideas with the rest of the class.
Once we have finished the discussion, we will relate the above mentioned topic with others such as, the Earth´s biosphere and ecosystems in their Natural Science book, paying close attention to the aquatic ecosystems.
I will explain them the importance of protecting the Oceans. Because the open oceans containt the largest ecosystem on Earth. It is home to whales, dolphins and many types of fish. Marine plants include seaweed, kelp and phytoplankton.
Finally, as a whole group, we will propose actions in order to protect our Oceans from the plastics.
