HOW ENGLISH SOUNDS TO NON-ENGLISH SPEAKERS (MARÍA JESÚS MARCOS)
Level: Students 1º/2º bachillerato .Objectives: students practice the listening ,speaking and writing skills.
Activities:
1.-Students listen to the video without wacthing it .(it´s a video of a fake language )
I will ask students three questions before listening :
A.-How many different people can you hear ?
B.-What is being prepared for dinner ?
C.-why did start arguing ?
2.- Then some students will be sent out of class, and the rest of the students will watch the video without any sound.
3.- After watching the video ,some students will try to tell the story to those students who were out ,
4.- Then the video is played again with sound ( nobody understands 😉)and then they try to answer the questions.
5.-Finally I will tell them that the language spoken is no english , that it´s a fake language.
6.- Storyboard template : In pairs they draw and write about the story as they understood it.
7.- They share their activities with their partners ,
