The teacher writes that information on the board and tries to elicit what the activity is going to be about. For intance by asking, what do you think they are doing? and other concept questions if
the students do not come out with ideas: Are they cooking? Are they studying? Are
they playing? Are they washing? Are they happy?
Are they sad? Students give oral answers
The teacher gives a description of the picture (story adapted to their language competence):
"In this picture there are two dogs and a washing machine. The two dogs are looking at the same place. One is wet. The other is dry. The one outside
the washing machine is staring at us..."
e.g. Wow! he/she____________
- Now, the teacher shows the picture and asks more questions: Why is the dog staring at us? What do you think he is thinking? What do you think he would say? Students give answers.

Note: This
is a very simple activity that I am going to put into practice pretty soon. I
haven’t put my grammar googles, but grammar itself has just come out. Right
time for there is/are and present continuous with my first years.
