THE PRESENT





This is an activity designed for students with a B1/B2 level of competence

The main objective is to make make students realise about the importance of going outside and spend less time indors playing video games.

The teacher may guide students towards a special package that the boy´s mother sends him. Thus, I would give students some "story seeds" to get students' attention, to make predictions and revise vocabulary related to question formation, strenghten their comprehension and production skills and improve their creativity.

The story seeds may be:

- a playful puppy
- a 14 year-old boy
- a present
- video game console
- a thoughtful mum.

So, I have prepared the following activities based on that video for my English classroom. THERE WAS A PROBLEM… I will tell the children that the day before I watched a video that I really loved. I will show them a poster with different words to encourage children to start speaking. (I can't paste the poster, but it is Halloween theme with the title and four words related to the video: baby boy, halloween, tradition, mummy, problem) If will guide my students with questions, so that they can start talking and make predictions on the story . For example What Halloween tradition could it be?
